I got these codes what does this mean?

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine

control module.

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC

Detected in ECM

A 9Companion DTC9 was set in both the ECM and PCM.

I just checked some codes on my truck. I had the 1963, followed by 1968, which is very unclear. when connected to cummins insite ( I love working at Cummins) it was a 298 code with a pid of 1968 which is oem ecu not communicating with cummins ecm. turned out I forgot the dash was out and it set it off. but in troubleshooting in insite, it ways to check the pins from the chrystler ecu to the cummins one.

but you need the actual code from the cummins ecm.

More than likely they were set when you had it a part for the repairs. I'm guessing you had the batteries disconnected for awhile. They should clear them self's after 20-30 start cycles. Keep us up to date if they do not go away, or if any others show up
