What can you tell me about Delta tires. A local store has them for sale and they look good. They are about the same as BFG's but for half the price, and have a 50,000 mile tred.

Thanks

Had them on a Dodge Intrepid, they didn't last very long. But maybe the truck tires are better, I dunno. I have chaparrel on my truck now (40,000) mile tire, I'll be lucky to get 15,000 miles. I'm going with BFG's next time. I know they'll last.

I'm a Michelin man myself. BFG is good but I can just find them in load range D. I advise quality, remember you tires are the only thing touching the ground. You know what your truck cost. Think about it.

I've had BFG MT's on every truck I have owned. Love them on the road, in the rain, snow & sand. Got 50,000 out of my last set on my Ram. They cost a bit, but I think they're worth it.

I got a set of Coopers on my 3500 just before she was put in the hospital for her "frame transplant". A few nights ago one of those 20/20 Dateline shows were doing a big thing on Cooper having to pay off a dozen cases due to tread separation! #ad
Who knows, the media loves I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER like that.

They did bring up a point that caught my attention, when flats are repaired, moisture and/or air can get between the plies causing early failure, (separation).

It would seem to me that a thorough periodic inspection of tires would end a lot of trouble before it having a chance to turn ugly. Most folks driving out there wouldn't know a problem until it's too late, on the other hand kids like us are at one hell of an advantage with our mechanical knowledge.

Do we have any tire guys out there to advise on what to look for other than the obvious?

I had a set of Coopers 3-4 years ago that suffered from tread separation. The newer styles seem to be better. We run them on the trucks at work and they are all holding up really well.

Cooker, Would or do you run them now? I got them cause the tread design looked like it would do well in various conditions. Also was there warning when they went bye bye or was it a big surprise??
