Hello I am a new member of TDR. I have had three cd trucks 94, 96, and a 98. 5. Recently my family and I took a trip to South Dakota, while in one of the campgrounds another Dodge owner gave me the info on TDR. While visiting this web site I have found out how dumb I really am. What do you mean when you say having your turbo silencer ring removed, what are higher hp injectors?

Claymike, Welcome to the Forum! You're at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to info on this site. I'd suggest for starters to read as many old posts as you can. Topics run the gamut, especially when it comes to performance upgrades! Also browse through the "Links" section where there's even more info. This internet site was a major eye-opener for me. Before, I assumed 300 HP for a Dodge Cummins was way above its potential. Boy was I wrong!!! Anyway whenever you have a problem with your rig, this is a good place to come seeking advice.

Welcome to the TDR !!!!!
The turbo silencer ring is a small cylindrical metal insert that is held in place by a snap ring and sits physically right in front on the turbo itself. If you remove the intake hose from the air cleaner box to the turbo, you can see it easily.

There are high performance fuel injectors available for the Cummins from the aftermarket. Adds are shown in the links section.

Hope this helps- Sam

Been on a little trip John, back to Carthage, Missouri, where I recently bought a farm. I decided some time ago to get out of Calif. and enjoy some of that good country living! I hope to put my home up here in CA, for sale shortly after the new year(if Y2K doesn't end society as we know it) and build back there asap! My truck behaved admirably as usual; never wanting for power while pulling about a 6,000 lb tandem trailer at 70-75 MPH all the way through the mountains and flatlands and averaged over 14 MPG while doing it! My past big blocks would have got about 6-7 MPG. It's never burnt a drop of oil between 5,000 mile changes either. As you can see, I'm a happy camper!! Take care, Sam

We're the tip of the iceberg alright -- was at the Cummins shop the other day and asked for an LF-3894.

Response: "What's that?"
Answer: "New filter for ISB engines. "
Response: "You always know about these things before we do. "

They then inquired about the difference and I happily expounded on the benefits of stratopore -- as they placed my order.

Welcome to the frontier.

Mark,
Same thing happened to me. The counter guy kind of laughs when I come in - he's just waiting to hear what I know that he doesn't. The salesman I bought my truck from has even called me when a prospect comes in and asks a question he can't answer. All because of the info I get here.
