I got new one put in this year and I have never even had to touch the adjustment on it.

Seems it's got some type of gizmo inside that senses how fast you brake and it applies more braking automatically.

Truck stops the same as if I didn't have the trailer hooked up. ie: I apply the same brake pressure empty.

Only situation I notice is when I hit the brakes for a stop light... the trailer takes over and pulls me to a dead stop, without locking up. kinda fast sometimes, but I can live with it.

Thanks

thanks I got it on saturday and installed it saturday night so I'll get to test it out on friday, I was told I got it at his cost witch was $60. 00 is that a good price I didn't have time to shop around so I bought the best one he had!

It sounds like I made the right choice!!

thanks

Adam

I just got the voyager xp, I believe. They are great controllers.

Main thing is to ADJUST them properly. Follow the instructions very careful and take your time fine tuning, I have mine tuned to a "T" just like if I had no trailer behind me. Slows down to a normal stop and does very well on panic stops. Like I mentioned they must be adjusted right. By the way should always take it for a test drive. Don't adjust it on the day you're going on your trip, could be in for some unpleasant surprises!:)

I have an Envoy, too. I just got it in March with my new trailer. I got mine for $60. also. It works very well, although lately the trailer brakes will lock up sometimes after they're warmed up. I may need to keep experimenting with adjustments. It didn't do this on the first 1/2 of my 5600 mile towing trip to CA in June, but then it started doing it. It seems like it could be related to higher ambient temps, but I don't know. I'm new to the trailer brake game, so I don't have any frame of reference (had a pop-up camper up until this spring). It seem to be a pretty good unit, but I have heard some negative comments about Tekonsha. But I've also seen a lot of positive comments here about them, too. The trailer stops when it needs to and doesn't push me, so it is doing it's job. By the way, I mounted mine in the hole where the ashtray used to be. Very convenient for adjustments.

I have had both the voyager xp and now the Tekonsha envoy and I wouldnt trade the Envoy for any thing, it is much eaisier to adjust on the fly and it looks cool in my truck... ...

I've had my Envoy for nearly 3 years, first in my Chev and now in the Dodge. The adjustment has been the same since I set it up in the Dodge a year ago. Its great. I wouldn't trade it.
