Checked codes and P1693 & P0216 came up. What are these codes?

They mean that you should check your fuel pressure ASAP, find a dealer for warrenty work, or start shopping for a VP. Does your truck run okay? Any stumbling, hard starting, etc... It could be a false code, but if it is real and your VP finally dies, you will be stuck by the side of the road.

ps. Go to the Discussion Forums/User Control Panel and fill out your signature by listing your truck stats. You might also fill out your profile with your location.

I belive it may be your fuel cap. It may not be on correctly, it may be loose or it may not be the correct cap. :)

i have the same codes, truck runs fine, fuel pressure is fine, no CEL or hard starts or anything out of the ordinary

I had an intermittent stall when putting it in gear, and an ocassional stumble when shifting into OD, it also stumbled on startup. This was happening for about a year. When the 0216 code finally showed up, I replaced (recently) the VP "proactively" just in case.

Just curious, how long have you had the code?

No hard starting,no stumbling, truck runs fine. The codes just showed up. I did have a box plugged into it,but I unplugged it because it made the engine surge. I couldn't feel it surge, but I could hear it. Just got too annoying to listen to.

i dont know when it first showed up, but it has been a few thousand miles miles since i discovered it, just randomly decided to do the key trick to check codes one day and there it was, i did have a bad lift pump about 15000 or so ago that was replaced very quickly so i guess the low fuel pressure could have something to do with it.
