Calvin- regarding your problem, does your seat belt warning light come on when you first turn on the key? If it doesn't, yur bulb in the dash is bad. I was looking at the wiring diagram & it shows the input to the light coming from the seat belt module. My truck does not have wiring going to the buckle, so like some said, you will not get the seat belt light after the initial start when you turn the key on. Mine doesn't, but my buddys 2001 does & he has wiring to his buckles. Hope that helps- I always like to pay back a good deed. [/QUOTE]

Renoram, My light comes on during the bulb check, but if I unplug the buckle the light stays off. Then the other day the light stayed on after the bulb check. My manual shows a switch in the buckle going to the seatbelt light. Need some time to check it out.

OK, Its a done deal on my problem. I took her for a 30 minute + drive this afternoon & all is well. Thanks again everyone for the help.

Calvin- thats interesting you're manual shows a switch in the buckle. I have a wiring diagram & it doesnt show a buckle switch or wiring. I took a look for the wiring to my buckles & there is none. Do you have power seats? chet

Renoram, I did a little more reading last night. The switch that turns on the seatbelt light is in the spool reel mounted in the drivers seat not in the buckle. My truck does not have power seats, it's has the split bench cloth.

I would be carefull using the hot wire on your belts. The timer has a g-force sensor that powers down the latches in a accident. If you hot wire the latches your seatbelts are not going to hold you.

Thats how it looks per my wiring diagram- but the wires go directly to the SB module- driver=or/bl pin 7 & passenger=or/rd pin 8. The wires that go to the warning system are tan- one comes out of the SB module & one comes from the driver door jam switch. Looks like they parallel at connection point S312

I'm not concerned about the sensor in the module as I tested the inertia lock with it hot wired & it locked out mechanically fine with inertia force applied. But in any case I dont need to hot wire it now that the problem is fixed for good correctly.

Let me know if I can be of any help to you. chet
