Hang on a sec, Jay! You're not intercooled! This thread is for IC only. Can't you read the sign? BTW, last weekend I got about 600deg at 70mph with 2-4lbs boost (80 degree low-humidity) at about 2000rpm.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign, blocking out the scenery, etc.

Threw my numbers in there to point out that I/C or not, running empty on a flat gives about the same egt.

Mine ran right around 700 deg at around 5 psi, flat, open. That's at 7000 elevation, PODs, an a HX-35/16. I think the lack of air makes 'em run a bit warmer, but the pyro never got near 1300* unless I was passing a Corvette at 30 psi :D

Mark,

Valves are at . 009 and . 019 as per suggestions here and elsewhere.

Havent checked exhaust- hadnt even considered a collapsed muffler, and this rig has one (stock, too :( ).

manifold gaskets are fine- no leaks, minimal shrinkage.

Air filter has 2K tops; intake hose is stock, but has been adequate in other trucks.

I cruise at 550 egt at 70 and I don't have an I/C, it's low because I have a bhaf and 4" exh and high gearing getrag and 3. 07. I think an intercooler will help under load, however
