I have about 87000 miles on the truck and an upper ball joint is in need of replacement. I want to get it done before we go on a trip of about 2500 miles to Baja in three weeks but would like advice on what else should be done at the same time.

I did a search and found some comments but would like an update. thinking of u joints but also wondering about bearings.

Being done by dealer so also like advice of any other things I should look out for after the repair.

Have not done a search for some time and did not figure out how to just search one forum.

Thanks Ron

No I
have not done the upgrade. Is it a Dodge part or is it other manufacturer? I have heard about it but when I asked to service tech he did not seem to know about it.

From what I can tell, if your that far go ahead and do ujoints and possibly bearings. I have a growl on tight turns in parking lots. I am going to do joints and bearings at the same time. Had not thought about ball joints as previous owner has done them.

I did my own work. . I replaced both the upper and lower joints, tie rod ends, lubricated the u-joints and hubs... my truck has 150K miles... . I used rockauto.com for the parts and purchased the Raybestos Profession Grade Parts. . all with grease fittings... I assume that with some care these parts will last the life of the truck while I own it...
