Steve Earl went down the same road so many people do. Drugs, and then jail. His carreer crashed and has never recovered.

Steve Earle actually is doing quite well.

He's married to a beautiful fellow singer/songwriter, Allison Moorer. They have a kid together.

He's clean, sober, and a bit of a left wing anti-type who does those 99%er Occupy movements, supports Obama, etc... . unfortunately.

Still a heckuva singer/songwriter though.

He just performed at the Bear Trap Summer Festival on Casper Mountain just a few miles from where I now live.

I went and saw him a year or so ago, I was horribly disappointed. He still sings and plays well but he's a huge commie. The fat slob spent have the show complaining and whining about corporations, republicans, "**********s", etc. I left.

This is what I find disgusting about most artists of any kind they use their notoriety to impose their beliefs. Just sing or what ever and SHUT UP about the other crap that you didn't pay to hear.
