What exactly is a "blog?"

I've been hearing the term "blog" lately. I know it relates to something about the internet, but do not know the specifity of its true definition. Is the TDR a blog? Would someone 'splain this term to me.

"BLOG" is a slang term/shortened version of the internet term "WEB LOG". Basically it's something like a daily diary but readable by all. The political "blogs" are the ones that made the term famous when they broke the news about Dan Rather lying about goverment documents when the mainstream news services were in denial about the whole thing. You can find blogs about everything.
