Hello everyone, I need some advice? I am use to modding my Vette so this is new to me. Which box should I get to add some zip without hurting my transmission? If I knew it was this easy to get power I never would have bought a Dodge:D . I will end up down the endless trail like my 99 C5 that I road race. I pick up my 2001 3500 extenda cab X-mas eve:D Will this void my warranty if something happens and I remove it? Is the install reversable without detection? I can't wait to get it. The color is dark Navy to match my Vette. I paid 32,700 and the sticker was 40,000+. I looked at the Chevy and Ford but went with what was tried and true. I do like the motor as my friend put 400,000 on a few motors or more delivering Skaters. The styling grew on me lately and I find the others boring. I prefer it over the new 1500. THanks for listening!

PS Will my truck have the cold weather fast idle option and latest ECM? Dump oil at 500 miles?

JShiels, welcome aboard. The EZ is the fueling timing box for those who want to be able to remove it and leave virtually no tell tale signs. (there will bew a difference of opinion here. ) It is about the maximum you can do before Transmission mods. However, transmission mods are advisable for longer transmission life. Bill Kondolay is the man to call for transmission work IMO.

Dump oil at 500 miles-That is commendable. I took another route. I just changed the oil filter at 500 and the oil/filter at 3000.

My guess is the fast idle would be in the latest revision as of the build date of the ECM. Don't know if that helps. Good luck-Happy motoring. ;)

I guess that would be the lowest HP EZ box or should I get he second level and keep it turned down? If I can do that:D . Where is that transmission guy or who is near NYC? I guess just ship it?

Welcome to the TDR!

Regarding "fueling boxes", even the ones that don't pierce the pump wire, still leave a "paper trail" of fuel, and boost info in the engine control module. This can be retrieved by the dealer's "technician" and will show a history of a box even if you remove it before service.

As far as the trans, contact Bill K.

He has trained installers around the country, and will put in touch with them to arrange for a top-notch istallation.

There are two boxes that leave no physical trace of being hooked up on your truck They are the Edge EZ and the BD Plun-n-power. Both of these boxes use stock connections. I have the EZ and like it very much. It will be fine with just the stock transmission. As mentioned above I would get boost and egt gauges and probably a fuel press gauge. Both boxes add about the same amount of hp/tq.

With that said and reading about a corvette, I would guess that you are going to be doing more to your truck in the future. So maybe look at an Edge Comp. You can hook this box up and not use one of the wires (the one that leaves the physical trace of bombing) and get the same effects as the EZ. Then down the road sometime (when you and your truck are ready) you could hook up that last wire. There are a few members doing this exact thing right now.

Now for the disclaimer... All boxes leave a trace if someone wants to find one. There are parameters in the ECM that give it away. There have been several posts about this in the past.

As a final warning, I started out thinking that a few extra HP would be nice so I added a box. Then that got old and I wanted some more power. So I added injectors and a TC/VB. Soon I got used to that... ... this story still does not have an ending... . BOMBing is an addiciton. Its alot of fun to have a pickup that is as fast as a vette.....

"Addiciton"

You guy are right about addiciton - UPS hasn't even gotten here with my EZ & gauges and I'm already looking at DDIIs, VB, and TC!
