OK, you guys have scared me into a fuel gauge. My question is one of looks as well as equipment. I have an indash combo EGT/boost and want a fuel gauge installation that will look nice and work well. Any suggestions on the type and the location of installation in my '99 3500?
The steering column mount pod is pretty nice. I have my fuel pressure gauge mounted under the dash by the 4WD shifter being that you dont need to view it all the time. This way its not cluttering your dash but at a glance, you can make sure the lfit pump has not died. I went with a mechanical Auto Meter but there are lots of options you can choose.
I went with the Westach from Geno's, price was right (the Autometer was a couple hun) and lots of folks have reported good experiences with them. Don't know if it'll match your current gauges or not.
Unfortunately, Geno's had the Westach on back order so I've been waiting a few weeks for it already... ...
P. S. The Westach was $65. 00 including the sending unit.

FYI the TDR has an FP gauge install article in issue 36 page 92.
Autometer gauge was a couple hundred dollars??? I paid $48. 00 for mine and $40. 00 for the hose kit. Where are you paying over $100. 00 for a mechanical gauge Zimman?
I used a single electric type and used a single gauge holder bracket and mounted it UNDER the dash (the way we did in the old days) as far to the right as I could go. I have a 6 speed. This keeps it out out harms way and really looks great without being in the way, yes you can read it at any time by glancing down. I have a digital and it is programmed to blink when it gets below 8 psi, and by keeping it low it does not bother me even if blinking at night. I will try to take a digital photo soon, because it is a good place for only one gauge. ED
I just got my Hewitt 0-30psi mechanical gauge with isolator today. Too bad I don't have a digital camera to post a pic because the gauge matches the factory instruments really closely. Hewitt pricing is great and I got the FP gauge from Wildcat Diesel (www.wildcatdiesel.com) along with 0-50psi boost and EGT gauges, they are great guys to deal with.
