Competition Hmm B5.9 or B6.7 mods?

I'm putting 600 to the tire and getting ready to hook this thing to a sled. My transmission is full DTT stem to stern. Does anybody think she'll hold and lock overdrive in four low pulling a fairly good size sled??

When I pull I start out in first and manually shift into second at about 3500rpm and manually lock the TQ right after takeoff sometimes I can hit third depends on track conditions and am pretty competitive with the stick trucks doing it this way.

I'm pretty sure I'll get to third gear but what I was really wondering is if I should just leave the overdrive on and see if i could go all the way. Seems to me that I could overload the motor but as long as I can keep the bottom charger going, I should be ok. I feel like I've got plenty of motor to do it but I still have those what if questions??!!??

If it gets under your big charger it'll fall flat on it's face and youll loose momentum. I'd wager to say that you'd be better staying in third at the most.

i dont think that would be to good on the OD unit, unless you can keep the tires going 55mph and i doubt that when BBD only goes about 40. from watching a bunch of pulls this year, put it in D, 4 wheel low and go with it. i watched a bunch of guys with not more than moderate HP (350-400) pull very well with that approach. that is what i am going to do next season when i pull.

Went last night to pull and brought home 1st with my powerbypoole twins. Did just fine. No weird movements or stumbles. Truck is killer strong!! Pulled in D O/D unit off-went all the way to third gear hit the lock up switch and there was the end.

good job--you should always leave the O/D off--as stated you'll fall flat once it shifts into O/D---I've broken a couple of shafts pulling in 4hi also--haven't pulled in 4 hi since---chris
