2001 5 speed, smarty, adrenaline, 150hp sticks, gdp lift pump, stock turbo 3. 73 rear end. What gear should he use and what 4wd range.

thanks

Your truck's gonna be mighty hot during a pull with all that fuel and a stock turbo  I wouldn't look at the gauge, what'cha don't know don't hurt ya :-laf

When I pulled with my 12 valve (95, bosch 300 sticks, #8 plate, 3k governor springs, stock turbo, 3. 55 gears) I was in 3rd gear and low range. It worked real well for me, as 2nd was way too low.

Does he have a DD clutch? I wouldn't try pulling with a single disc. If he has a DD, go with 2nd gear hi range, hold the pedal to the fllor the entire time & feather it out the hole. If it is single disc & he is gonna do it anyway, go 3rd gear low range. just take off like your pulling out from a stop with a loaded trailer & hammer it when he starts moving. Don't try to build boost off the line or the clutch is fried. The video in my sig is 2nd high range.

ya its got an upgraded valair clutch in it that isn't gonna last (clutch plate welded to pressure plate, long story) anyways, hes gonna need a dual disk anyways so he said what the hell might as well try, we put my truck behind him today in a stubble field and he drug me around kinda like a sled and we decided 3rd/4low was the best,
