I know that using a j-hook on my auto 01 will build boost, but with boost alone not alot happens. How do you get computer and pump on the right page to deliver needed fuel for boost being made.

You still need some type of boost fouler. Otherwise it will cause the comutor to actually defuel the engine and you will loose power. Aboost fouler would be some type of computer enhancement device. Like from Edge, Bully Dog, Banks, Tst, Ect.

I think they all do it. I had A Edge EZ, will DD2's and it worked all right. Now much cooler EGTS's.

Two ways to get added fueling are mechanical (injectors) and electronic (performance boxes and downloaders). Most boxes have a map sensor plug-in to fool the ecm into seeing no more than stock levels of boost so it won't defuel. Even with a boost fooler the wastegate will open at the preset "safe setting". The j-hook is the quick way to build additional pressure to enhance added fuelng from either a box or injectors on an automatic equipped Cummins. A j-hook added to a stock engine will not do much. With your slipping transmission that would be the first thing to fix(upgrade the stock torque converter and valve body),then gauges and after that performance goodies:)

also remember that any boost above ~32 psi is NOT creating more power, just more heat. the stock hy35 on the auto sppols REAL quick, but will actually lose power as it climbs out of its efficiency range QUICK!
