What do you have?? Fill out your signature so everybody knows what you have and you will get a lot of very usable info on this site. Welcome!!

GSk Kit

I would go with a PDR 3kgsk and you can always add the baby springs later to make a 4kgsk if more rpm is needed. Oo.

i have been around this board for a long time and i think most folks can get away with the 3000gsk i think they will let you rev up to 3200 or 3400 even that is whati have settled on. anyway 3k's of 4k' you will not regret it but you temps will be as jim fulmer said in the "plasma torch egt's" range or they could be.

does the kit only make a difference in high rpms? how does running up to 3000 or 3200 rpms affect engine life/durability?

b,

your truck defuels at 2600rpms this will allow you to have full fuel all the way to 3200 rpms trust me it makes a huge d/f and is a must for those wishing to increase performance with 12v. you have to change to 60lb springs if going to 400gsk so as not to jam a valve.

3000-3200 shouldnt affect engine life much, in any at all. the newer 24valves turn that much.

The springs purpose is not just to allow you to rev to 3200 or whatever, but to not defuel at the 26-2700 rpm range. It allows full fuel to and past 3000. the 4k is the same, just higher.

Oh yeah, the 4k does require the springs, as mentioned.

Thank you for all the information on what would be good for my application. This is a great site and extremely glad I joined. :D

The springs do not only allow the truck to rev past it's current governed RPM's but they will change the way the truck drives from off idle to max governed RPM's.

To this point my 4k gsk has probably made the biggest seat of the pants difference. Driving around town 3k rpms is a comfortable limit as I can have all the fun my clutch can handle and stay at or under 3k. The only time yet I really wished I had put the valve springs in also was when I went sled pulling. I had to wait for the sled to load my truck enough before putting the pedal flat on the floor to keep from over revving. My two cents.
