What happened to Smarty?

I have a problem with my Smarty SO4 not showing the sw number loaded onto the ECM. The performance shows it isn't working too. I updated the software and tried again, still not working. I called the "tec guys" and was told to do the software reload. Now, they won't answer the phone. I used to get real customer service from them, but now it seems that was a thing of the past. #@$%!

They are probably frantically trying to destroy records while the epa is knocking on their door. If epa hasn't reached them yet it's only because epa is destroying another company before they get to Smarty.

Not sure I understand what you mean, are you saying the SW will not download to your ECM? And this is evident by the (lack of) performance?

Bob used to answer the phone, now they have some teckies of some sort. This isn't on their troubleshooting tree so they have no clue, I guess. I will try Bob.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you have a problem with the programmer. Keep trying, Bob should get back to you.

Still not real sure what the exact issue with your Smarty is, but are you saying you have downloaded the latest software to Smarty, and Smarty is not downloading to your ECM? Is it not recognizing it, or is it non-responsive? Maybe a connection problem, bad cord, low voltage vehicle batteries?

You may have to mail your Smarty into Bob for repair. I mailed my S04 to Bob around Christmas time, for an upgrade to S06/POD/UDC. Bob had it back to me within the week, I mailed it on a Thursday or Friday, and it was back in my possession the middle of the following week.

Harvey; Smarty is still selling programmers on the open market. The EPA has not shut them down like some of the other manufactures were for emission deletes. You can still buy an S67 for the 6. 7L Cummins engine and use it on the trucks. Granted you will lose your Ram and Cummins warranty.

Sounds good. From traffic and comments I've seen here in these pages over the last few years Smarty has always look like a smart and legitimate company. I'm glad to see they are out ahead of EPA and not facing destruction like some of the others being run over by a run away government drunk on its power.

My brand new Texas senator Cruz who I proudly voted for challenged the kenyan's attorney general and fellow chitcago street thug, eric holder, during a senate hearing on drones and killing American citizens. He backed holder into a corner and forced him to admit in a public hearing that the use of drones to kill an American citizen is unconstitutional. I heard the audio tape this week on Rush's program.

A few new senators like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are a breath of fresh air in the foul odor of the senate dominated by dead and decaying flesh and brains.

When it comes right down to it, it is the killing of an American citizen on US soil without due process that is unconstitutional. After all is said and done, the drone is nothing more than a weapon in an arsenal of weapons that may include bowie knives, muskets, kentucky long rifles, m-16's, m-14's, hand grenades, F-16's, piano wire, etc. Just another weapon. Drones dont kill people, people kill people.

I can easily imagine a situation where it might be preferable to go after a felon etc with a drone rather than send a cop with pistol in to get the guy.

How do you feel about a government drone hovering over your home or over your group of buddies gathering for some type of activity? What do you think of having a govt. drone hovering over your business observing who your customers are or what you're selling.

I think youve read too much into what I said (or else I said it poorly). I am fanatically anti drone (just ask my wife and the neighbors about how loud I get when they talk about domestic drone activity).
