What HP is 5.84 Sec from 0-60?

I installed my dd2's last week and got a 5. 84 Sec on 0-60. (this was with the comp box on 5-5 of course :D ) Before I had 275's and got 6. 54 sec. What HP am I turning?
 
Sky,you still have the HY35?If do it must get real hot. You should have about 360-375 RWHP with your setup. If you had a bigger turbo,(HX40)you'd be closer to 400. Did you G-tech it to get the 0-60?
 
I can't help you there but there are alot of variables that would make it hard to predict. However I am sure that someone out there has mods close to your that might give you a estimate.
 
Yes I used Gtech. I thought I would get hot but I dont. I am faster from 0-60 then a truck with a hx40 with the same mods. from 50-100 im sure I would be toast though. The most I saw was 900 degrees. If i go up a grade at about 100 then I can get to about 1300. So I am happy im not running hot. I think these hy's are much more snappy out of the hole.

I would honestly check the gauge for accuracy, with the HY35 and COMP (plus DDII's) on 5x5 you should be able to bury the gauge. I could get mine hot when I had the old orginal PowerEdge only... on level 3 with the HY35.



Its not that I don't believe you, I just don't wanna see your engine melt due to a gauge not being accurate. Whats your boost level like now?
 
I did just move the probe to pre turbo. In now see boost levels at 30. I will check the guage (some how) but I have talked to a few people and some run real hot and some dont. Like Joe (24vlvdsl), has the same mods as me and he doesnt run hot either with his hy35. Your right if I melted my engine I would be :mad: then I would :{ . I rarely drive on 5 anyway. Just to beat up on other people ;) I did race a Dmax yesterday, from a stop sign. I seen him in my RV mirror trying to get up beside me. I was a brand new dmax didnt even have plates yet. I was at the stop sign first so I waited as long as I could for him to get to the other lane and stopped then I started to roll out of the stop sign, He didnt even stop he just stomped on it and I did too of course and the poor fella didnt have a chance. I then let off the peddle and we did it again at about 50 and I just walked away. He didnt even look at me when he turned at the light.



It was fun. :) My wife was a little PO'd because all her papers and stuff went flying into the back seat. I forgot to mention to "hold on". Ok maybe not forgot, If I would have said hold on swe would have :-{} about raceing. :p
 
The G-Tech will calculate HP pretty accurately if you provide it with an accurate weight. It's spelled out in the manual, if you need a copy, PM me, I've got it in a PDF file.
 
Sky,your EGT's are to low. I agree with Kat,dont trust that guage. My dad;s 01 with dd2's and an EZ can hit 1300 pre turbo at the top of 3rd(auto),on flat ground at 28psi of boost. I bet you are every bit of 1500 pre turbo.

Sky, Joe (24VDSL) is running the EZ Box with DD2's and the new Piers Nasty9 turbo(modified HY35)



Comp box is much different than the EZ :eek: as you know :)
 
My temps

I have an 01 auto with stage 1's a VA with boost module and can get 32lbs of boost. I have a had time getting over 1k pre turbo on my truck. I too was told my gauge was wrong, had it all checked out and all was fine.

With a VA then that temp is fine. However Sky has a COMP box which adds a whole bunch of fuel (150hp worth) over the VA. So you can't really use your combo has a comparision.



Like I said I just don't want to see him do any damage.
 
If the EGT's truely are only 1300 on long hills at WOT,I would suspect the pump wire tap isnt making contact. If the pump wire isnt hooked up,its just an EZ,which should just hit 1300 in that situation. With dd3's and the HX35, I can hit 1660 in the 1/4 mi,with a BHAF,and a Jardine 4". I get a 39psi boost spike,then it settles back to 36 on level 5.
 
Hmmm, whats the best way to check my guage? And I am sure the pump wire is hooked up ok. I use to have a EZ before the comp, so there is a definate difference.
 
It is very possible that your guage is not reacting fast enought to show you the actual temp. Some TC's don't react fast enoght. I put two different TC on my truck in the same day... one would show me going over 1400 degrees and the other would not go over 900 on the same road. Its all about reaction time vrs. temp. I know that with a power edge box and 275's with a stock HY turbo I could hit 1450 degrees at WOT. With DD3's and the PE/EZ and a PDRHX35 I can hit 1500 degrees... . only I am going 100 MPH :D :D :D :D
