What hp mods affect warranty?

So I would like to get a little more power but I don't want to comprimise my warrantee (sure got my money's worth out of my '00 Ram's warrantee).



So what can i upgrade without losing it? I plan to do 4" exhaust which I'm sure is fine.



Where is the best place to spend some money?



Do new injectors void the warrantee?



What about something like a Bully dog? Who else makes similiar products? I have hears a few bad things about that product, anyone care to comment?

I would say what dealer you go to has more to do with how much attitude you'll get with warranty work when you're BOMBed.



I had 4" exhaust when I took mine in for a faulty ECM and they tried to blame the problem on that, but when they found the REAL cause they took care of me on the double.



I had tried out a Bullydog box about 2000 miles prior but that wasn't an issue.



You can always run a box then remove it if you take it in, but dealers can find traces of that if they really want to.



Anytime you BOMB you take risk of being denied warranty work, and clearly if you have a failure such as a head gasket or injector failre that the box likely contributed to then it should be your obligation to repair the damage. Before "blame" is assessed it should be determined what & how the failure occurred, instead of passing instant judgement like dealers often do. But as the saying goes, when you get serious into BOMBing. . . "I am my own warranty station. "

Thanks Vaugn. I guess my biggest concerns are driveline related. My '00 needed extensive repairs to both the transmission (47re) and rear diff. If i supe up the motor will they void those components?



Is BOMB an acronym for something or just imply beef?



How do products like the bully dog work? They seem like a good value for someone who doesn't have a lot of spare time for wrenching.

I think it was somebody with a big rubber stamp cancelling your warranty for even thinking about it. :{





Really, it all comes down to whether you've got a good dealer or not. Some will screw you intentionally, some are just plain stupid, and a few are great to work with. It's a crapshoot as to which one you get.



So you've gotta ask yourself... do ya feel lucky?
