Some leaders Lie to the mass public because some of the people here cannot handle the truth. They would do anything to throw a kink in the machinery of the USA. Many would prefer socialism to the Republic, which we live in now. Many Americans are not American, but spys, and cannot be trusted until the business of war is over. That is why our nation entrusts The President with such awsome resposibilities. Just look at how some of our own members will do anything to discredit President Bush, even after he proves his point time and again. President Bush has also fulfilled what the Demokrats demanded.

I didn't say you claimed ALL the people on this site don't know what war is... . in fact, I repeated your term of "most". I try to do that so I don't get mis-quoted.



Real war ... ... ... you made the statement that you KNOW what war is, that most on this site don't know what war is, and that you certainly know what those men and women are going through. So my point is... ... what makes you want to imply that your experience with war makes you more qualified to know what war is than "most" others on this site?



I'm not asking you to support this war. I don't have a problem with you or anyone else not supporting this war. It just seems silly to me that grown people in this country can have such a sinister view of the government that keeps them free... ... Republican or Democrat. You have stated in other posts that you support our troops. I am glad of that, and have to take you at your word even though you are cynical about the very government that controls them.



I'm not stupid enough to think our government is perfect, but it IS the best in the world... ... bar none!



Wanting to believe that Saddam has no ill intentions with all those weapons he isn't supposed to have (or connections with terrorist groups) is like wanting to believe the guy out there with the marijuana farms, meth labs, etc. , is only doing it for personal use and has no connections to other drug dealers. Yep, that's having your head in reality.

Come on illflem, while the liberation of Iraq's people has allways be ONE of issues, the terroist tie has ALLWAYs been the main issue. In all the UN debates wasn't it primarily about disarming saddam---

The terror cell you are speaking of Merryone, is in Northern Iraq. This area has been out of Saddam's hands, and jurisdiction since 91. When the news media found (why we can't find them this easy) the leader of this faction of Ha mas, he stated that Saddam was a greater enemy to them than the USA. This same faction was being backed by the factions of the Kurds (remember them, our allies). There is no black and white in this area of the world. Bush has plenty of reasons to go into Iraq and all of them sound quite noble, liberation, evil dictator, murder of own people, embarrassing of Daddy, oil, WMD, and just because he can!



When Saddam took control of Iraq, he had several groups to control, he did this with cruelty and mass murder. There are some that say this is the only way to control this many factions of religion, ethnic, and political backgrounds. If Bush can pull this rabbit out of his hat, I will be surprised. As I have stated before, the battle is just beginning.



I for one hope that this does turn out well, the well being of the world depends on it. I am just hoping that Bush does not try it again on another country, he has set a precedence, and has a loyal following of minions.



I will be gone for a few days, don't miss me too much boys!

Where do you get this garbage? The faction in Northern Iraq is the Ansar al-Islam, not the Hamas which is located in Palestine. You make claims that cannot be backed by facts just to make a flimsy argument against the president. So you believe this leader of a terrorist group more than the intelligence services?

These two sentences condemn everything you claim. The Kurds are fighting with the Ansar al-Islam and Saddam is not a greater threat than the USA. In fact, here's another quote, "Iraq has also supported the Islamist Hamas movement and reportedly channeled money to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers". Please, enlighten me with where you get your ‘facts’.



Your last argument is that we are going into Iraq because of "embarrassing of Daddy and oil" among others. I hesitate to even qualify this remark with a response but I hear others mention similar views. First off, in your sordid mind, how was Bush 41 embarrassed? I think you fell off the liberal playbook a little. The argument most used is because Saddam attempted to assassinate George H. W. Bush. I ask why that wouldn’t be terms for an invasion all on its own? Wasn’t WWI started because of the assassination of Ferdinand?



Secondly, if we are going in because of the oil, then why didn’t we keep the oil the first time? We are not there for the oil. Yes, it’s a nice side benefit that a free Iraqi nation will need to sell a lot of oil to rebuild its country but we are not there to take over their oil fields. We could have very easily taken control of Kuwait’s oil in 1991. What’s that? You were invaded by Saddam? Ok, we’ll come liberate you but in return, Kuwait will become our 51st state. Get real. Never in our history have we been the aggressor nation you accuse us of being. I think you are just afraid that Bush is right and you can’t stand it.
