Sixpack are you using a fueling or timing box with your setup. When towing what egts are you seeing?

I can get well above 1250* lugging the engine. If I keep the rpm's up I have no problems with egt's. They're controlled with the right foot and down shifting. I hate to tell you what max egt's are because it is all in how "you" drive. I can tell you I never had a situation that I could not overcome either by lifting my right foot or down shifting. Go for it, you won't regret it.

As for fuel mileage... . Empty running all freeway miles, the best I have got is 18mpg with the 1. 6's and the Smarty. Hope this helps ya.

I have DDIIs, a TST PM3 stacked on an Edge EZ, Piers HX 35 w/ 14" housing, Scotty II intake and tow 17K lb 5er. I'm happy w/ loaded and unloaded performance. I still have the stock clutch w/ 103K miles on the clock.

I used to have 275s before I won DDIIs at a TDR event. IMHO, the Edge EZ and 275s are the best bang for the buck and can be bought cheap used here on the TDR. There are plenty of folks who can attest to this. Had I not won the DDIIs, I'm pretty sure I'd still have the 275s in. also, the 275s came in the 5. 9 on the intro level Class A motor homes. 275 HP/605 ft lbs tq on stock motor.

let us know what you decide and give us feedback on your results.

I think this way also. As long as you are not trying to make a drag racer or sled puller, this combo makes for a very respectable and versatile rig that is as fuel efficient as it gets. If you want a HP monster these are not what you want.

No monster power, just good towing power. I know egts depend on the right foot. I been wanting the rv275s for a while. Have read many threads and before buying and making a mistake I want to be sure. Need a very dependable running truck, but with a bit more get up to utilize power from my EZ. I only want to buy once, either RV275s or Mach 1. 6s. You guys know best because you've been playing longer than me. So thanks for all your help in the past and future. Bunyan

One thing to consider is do you forsee your area going to more stringent smog testing in the near future? If so, then any obvious mods like external boxes, air cleaners, etc will start becoming red flags. I am astatic about how well my rig is running in its current configuration, but it requires 2 external boxes to do it. Without boxes, these 275's wouldn't cut it for my wants. I'm thinking down the road, bigger injectors without boxes MAY end up being a better choice (also less to go wrong), but still Ill probably wait and deal with that if & when it happens.

So if I were to go with the 1. 6s without any boxes the power would still be more than stock without having lots of smoke? Glad you mentioned the smog this may become an issue very soon. What hp and tq could I get ball park with mach 1. 6s or would I need a different mach injector? Thanks, Bunyan

Go with the 1. 6s, when and if boxes become an issue use the Smarty. I have used jammer 150 tips and gone up to the Mach 4s and am now back to the 1. 6s. In my opinon the 1. 6s are the best combo with stock turbo and a mild fueling box.

I too went with the 1. 6's for a year without any external box, was plenty happy with the performance. I just replied to your other post about injector box combos.

a box helps with the MPG, I did not notice a difference in egt with EZ or without. I can tow at 400hp, but it is easier to tow at 350 and below. Oh and just because I have 400HP doesn't mean I floor it everywhere. Gauges are important.

My towing HP is 342 at the wheels.

My stock turbo can keep up with my 6k trailer on long grades, i rarely see more than 1200 pre turbo.

It would be nice to have the money for the 1. 6s now. From all I've read these seems to be my choice. Who has the best price with good service? Thanks for all the replies.
