TP and piston cooling noozles, is there a concern here similar to the FRAM oil filter issue??? SNOKING

Just a little bit of comparison info here. I ran a K&N RE-0880 and the prefilter 25-0880 for years and the silicon in the oil was always 8-12ppm, no bad but not good either. I got the smaller Marine version BHAF with no outerwear nad after 9000 miles my silicon was 3ppm!!!! Nuf said K&N in the trash.

Could be - but the K&N's *I* have used for about 14 years on my 2 Cummins, have also consistently delivered 3 ppm on silicon... ;)

:D

Oil analysis sheets displayed on request! ;)

Hopefully, the BHAF will do even BETTER! :D

May depend where you live. The gread NW does not have much dust blowing around in the air. Rain kind a takes care of that. SNOKING

YUP, but I bought our Dodge to tow our RV, and MOST of it's time has been spent well OUTSIDE our former N. Cal home area, just as the old '91 did!

Is there a ball-park / avg replacement period for either the large or the smaller BHAF version?

Besides better airflow, any increase in time between filter changes.

I have yet to change a stock filter when it is showing any decrease according to filter minder (not that precise in my opinion), just wondering if you guys are extending your avg replacement interval any?

here are the part #'s

Donaldson B105006

Baldwin PA2820

Hastings AF1012

DONALDSON ECB105006

Fleetgaurd # AH19037

Napa # 2790

Carquest # 87790

John Deere # PMAH19037

Big A # 93790

CATERPILLAR# 3I0005

FLEETRITE # AHR819037

LUBER-FINER# LAF2531

One thing to keep in mind is there filters are not created equal. Someone posted some flow data on some of these filters comparing them with the Fleetguard, I wish I saved that or knew where that post was. I do remember Wix, Napa and Baldwin were compared and the Fleetguard had a higher CFM rating, tested at 2" H2O as I recall. I tried in vain to find that post a couple times.

Yep, Gary had a good one, Turboman had a bad one. That's the problem with K&N, the Russian Roulette filter.
