Off Roading What kind-a shocks

Looking for a good dual shock steering stabilizer for the new 36" tires I just put on. Anyone have a brand they like?

Thanks, Paul

My stock one was damaged on my 04 and I replaced it with a dual Superlft. Took less than an hour to install. The truck goes down the road with much less wander and feels more solid. About 20K on it and still doing well.

I tried the Rancho stabilizer and blew the seals out of it in short order, installed a dual Skyjacker Steering Stabilizer and no more headaches...

Just installed the Skyjacker setup this weekend. Also put a DSS stabilizer in at the same time. WOW!! Didn't know this old 500k dually was capable of no-handed dead straight cruisin'. I'm so used to see-sawing I look like I'm on a good drunk. :D My daughters say I can leave the cane at home since I don't have to herd the truck down the road anymore.

betcha that DSS made the biggest difference ... all a steering stabilizer does is mask problems ;)

I run 35's with no stablizer. They basically overcompensate for the real problem which is suspension design. If oyu have room for moving caster around etc, I would do that first.

I was just recently looking around for a dual setup as well. Now many available for '97, but I ordered the Rancho kit. It arrived and only contained one shock. Called up the dealer and it turned out they only make the single set-up for my year. So, called up Kore to see what they had and might recommend. They don't have anything for a '97 either, but the person I spoke to said to send back the Rancho and go with the OEM b/c Rancho is a really cheap shock. Also said that dual setups are just for show. Sooo... . I'm about to throw on a NAPA stabilizer. Just wish some of the good companies (Fox, Bilstein, etc. ) made parts for the ol' '97.

I went with the Skyjacker dual setup on mine and really like it. Heavy duty, good fab work and fit. Installation went just like the directions.
