I'm currently running twins, but I am detuning my truck a little, so I want a good reliable single turbo that will support 400hp for towing. I will be running an edge drag comp and 100hp injectors. I don't like the HX-40 too much. It hasen't been know for reliability. Let me know what you think.

B1..... oh yeah! I have close to the same setup you are looking for, I towed a 17k trailer through the rockies with no egt problems with box on 1X5, my coolant got a little warm on some of the long steep grades but I never had boost fall off and only had to downshift to fifth once because of the coolant temps. My radiator is loaded with bugs and needs a good cleaning, this may have been the main culprit. It is a little spendy but to my knowledge one has never grenaded. It also cools down from highway trips by the time I pull into the driveway, the stocker I would have to wait 4 or 5 minutes.

Not affiliated just extremly happy with mine.

Bob,

A while ago, when we talked you said you wanted to try the

Dodgezilla and liked the concept. Have you see one at work yet.

You like, huh.

DH,

You say B-1. Can we assume you are speaking of the B-1 Bomber? Piers has nine B-1s listed.

Modified hx-40 from PDR. Call and ask them what they think would work. I think that being a single charger set up a dodgezilla would have high drive pressure and you wouldn't be able to use the power the way you want. The key thing you request is to support 400hp for towing. Usable power!

Jay, I have been running the dodgezilla for a couple of months now with the Mach 1 hot 3 injectors.

I am more than happy withe the performance so far, I did switch out to a silencer ring version.

I will be towing my 10K 5er soon with the Dodgezilla and Mach 2. 4 Mach ! Edm's soon.

So far I have ben more than happy.

Ashley, You would love the Dodgezilla for that application. perfect fit :)

I too am running the Dodgezilla-14W with 473/1040 non-towing HP--DD3's, DDUFM, Scotty, 5-inch. I think towing at 400 would be quite feasible.

exactly, I think this turbo is turning out to be quite a good product that it may make a few waves.

Bob and Wade,

Glad to hear it's working out for y'all.

Wade,

473HP, do you see EGTs over 1500 deg frequintly? Five inch exh, the downpipe off the hybrid is three inch isn't it?

BP,

Your sig says PDR HX40 12cm, 12cm? Is that something they stopped making? I thought they made a 16 and an 18.

Bob,

Are you to be the distributor on the west coast? ;)

I would go with the KSB1-B. It spool really quick (almost HY-9) and will keep 400hp under control easily. Oh yeah, it's built like an outhouse too... .

Is there a turbo made that will keep my egts under control that will still work with a pacbrake. I already have the pac brake and don't want the cost of selling it to replace with a new inline brake. When I tapped that pump wire with those DD2's, things got pretty toasty if I stayed in it. Had it to 1450 and still going when I backed out of it. I'm fine with the temps on 1x3 which is what setting I tow with but will probably end up with a turbo soon so I don't have to worry with egts when goofing off in 5x5.

The Dodgezilla will work with a Pacbrake. I think there is also a B1 that will mount up to a Pacbrake also, but I'm not sure what the drive pressures are like.

I will be towing anything form 15k to 30k lbs. The only problem I have right now with the twins is blowing off intercooler hoses. I had to stop 7 times and put them back on on my last trip. They hold fine under 30 psi, but above that they usually blow off. The system is wastegated. I have the piers boots. I've tried about everything to get them to stay better, but no luck.

Hardly ever gets to 1400. That's doing 0-100 runs or racing up a mountain. On levels 3 and 4, it gets into defueling RPM before it has a chance to get hot.

Yes towing would be different, but I'd try it. This thing SPOOLS and COOLS. I'm running it up to 45psi.

The downpipe is 3" to 4" right away, the next section of pipe takes it to 5".

you bet

YES, Rip and I both sell the Dodgezilla turbo line. It's a great product :)

BDHP,

Have you welded beads around the ends of all your piping for the twins? There are other ways to cure your boot problems if we knew a little more about what boots are blowing and such. For example: You can weld tabs to each pipe and physically bolt the two pipes together. Or you can double clamp your boots. Basically dont give up on your twins if you like them and they do the job better than a single (which they sure ought to).
