never let your power steering pump run dry ... very costly!!
Hi,
I have a posting in the 911(now archive) about my 99 with dead steering and brakes. .
Turns out it is the darn vacuum pump gear which means 1K vac pump plus the steering pump and the route cause (leaking steering gear box)
The vac pump puts me over the edge financially... .
But locally I just found a 24V from a 3500 wreck... . I think they said 24K miles on it
Do I buy it and try to sell the parts here or what? Looking for tdr member advice around this...
I can't afford to carry that engine in the back yard unless there is a market for the parts on it (or the whole thing less the vacuum pump and steering pump)
