so I've got a spare timing case from an '01 motor with the stepped dowel pin hole that was bought for a KDP fix, but the truck was just leaking oil... the case was fine.

how much should I ask for it? I got it pretty cheap... not looking to get rich, just wondering what a fair asking price would be.

thanks for your help,

Forrest

Cummins had a used gear housing when I was looking for one. They charged me a little less than 1/2 of new. The housing had the "stepped" hole.

thanks Scott.

britannic, yes, it will handle the P pump. the timing case is essentially the same for all the CTD's, the only difference is the stepped dowel pin hole. I've got an updated case on my '97.

No it won't. There are four cases, all different: First gen with VE pump, 2nd gen 12 valve with P pump, second gen with VP44, and third gen with CP3. The P pump and VP44 pump cases originally had the ordinary hole that lets the pin out, and in the 1999 calendar year the case was changed to the stepped hole.

At that time Cummins also began selling the 12 valve case with that improvement.
