I read that the new dodge uses "CAN-BUS" and therefore does not have a VSS wire for use with navigation radios. Is there any other way to get a VSS signal to the navigation radio?

Why did dodge change to CAN-BUS is it better? or just cheaper?

Dont know about your first question but CanBus is a newer digital bus protocall, not associated with cost but more a factor of bus efficiency.

CanBus was developed by the Gernmans to allow communications with multiple sources efficiently. Unfortunately in some applications CanBus is not always reliable. I work with it in Surgical lights from several manufacturers. when working with high speed periferials(sp) it looses its ability to stay in sync. It is only an 4 bit assignable address in most cases, so its uses are limited. Otherwise it's an ok system
