what is code 1757

my friend called me , his truck is showing a 1757 code and trans is not shifting normal any help is greatly appreciated as he is on vacation.

P1757-"Governor pressure above 3 psi in gear, with 0 mph". In other words, he is probably getting third gear starts. Replace the governor pressure sensor and solenoid and all should be good.

Is it dealer only?

The dealer would probably be the best bet to get the parts. Make sure to get a pan gasket, filter, and 2 gallons of fluid also.
