A few days ago I picked my truck up from the shop. I had the engine rebuilt after #6 piston stuck due to a clogged cooling jet. I am on my way back to Oklahoma from Oregon. The truck runs really well. However I am concerned, I have the #10 fuel plate in the stock position, star wheel is back a few turns from full. My problem is this. I cannot get the boost above 30 psi no matter how hard I push it, I have the waste gate shut off completely, and its running ~1100*@7psi up a 6% grade at 70-80MPH. I can full throttle it and the boost comes up to 27psi and the egts slowly climb to 1200*. overall my EGT's are a little high, but I have a hard time getting them to 1300*. The truck is a little laggy but that happened when I put the super B on. Am i just not putting enough fuel to it. getting about 17mpg now.

I was thinking about retarded timing. I had a big ordeal with the injection pump a few weeks ago. I had the timing set to 16*, down from 18* and found out i had bad DV's. the truck smoked like a freight train and no power until boost. I advanced the timing by feel and had it running GREAT when I lost the piston. I had shop set timing at 18* so I know it would run. I am in colo springs,CO tonight and will be home thursday. I plan on putting my ear to it again and see if that helps. Thanks for the quick relpy.

I am thinking at this point that i need twins. I have the original hx35, is that a good choice for the top with the Super B. I just wonder what the minimum, if any, horsepower rating I can run twins with. I don't want a monster just a kitten with CLAWS.
