What is it for?

While washing the plastic/acrylic cover over the headlights on my 2014 3500 limited I noticed a small (3/16") circle embossed into the cover right in front of the projector lens for the low beam bulb. Any idea what it is for?

the dots are for making a aliment of the headlights.

Thanks - So it is just a point of reference. Is it used with a headlight alignment machine or just as a visual reference?
