What is it? Maybe a kitchen utensil?

Anybody know what this is? It was in a “lot” of kitchen utensils at an auction. It goes in that red “sheath” and it says “Made in Italy”.

It's a wine bottle cork remover ...

wiggle the prongs down into the bottle on each side of the cork and then gently rotate and pull up with the cork.
