I believe I have read in the TDR that the max boost on a stock 04. 5 is around 26 lbs. I have a BD X Moniter and it shows that I have hit as high as 32 lbs. If 26 lbs is right do you suppose the moniter is wrong?

Every time I go over 30 lbs. the hose blows off the back of my gauge. Most of the time it keeps me from putting my foot into it but sometimes you just have to.

On a completely stock truck the max is typically around 32psi. Modified you can get the stock turbo up to around 52 psi, but we recommend keeping boost levels below 45 psi on a 04. 5.

Stock truck and I've nearly maxxed the guage on mine... white DiPricol 0-35psi... don't know how accurate it is, though.

Stock I could never get it over 30 psi. With Juice/Attitude I recall hitting mid 40's on my analog gauge, but will check to see what max I've hit on the monitor since install.

"Why"?.

Much above 45psi the turbo is so far off of its efficiency map that while it is pushing more air, the air is hotter so there is a point of diminishing returns. Also much above 45 psi and your going to risk gernading your turbo.

Westach dual egt boost gage on mine and I can nail 35 pounds quite easily in either 5th or 6th gear. still stock truck.

at work I have pheumatic pressure standards and checked out the meter. it was off by about half a pound from 0-35. the egt sensor was right on the money with the given milivolt values given in the instruction manual. the sensor was a touch low but still ok.

it's nice working in the calibration section at work and having at ones disposal pressure and voltage standards :D

Ahhh, but how do you know the tester is accurate? :-laf ;)

How much boost can the stock map sensor read? With the TST on 4/4 I hit about 38psi. I don't think I've ever hit 40psi. This is being read by the TST readout monitor.

So 45 would be alright? I might mess with my wastegate to get more.

The map can only read 38-40 psi, you can call TST and they will confirm this.

Well, that's what I figured. It must be about a 4 bar map sensor, with a little voltage drop. That would be around 40psi all it could read. So know I wonder what I am hitting.....

Guess I'll have to get a SRT-10 pod and a 60psi boost gauge to find out!
