Looked Under The Truck Today And Found A 1/2 Inch Or So Rubber Hose Hanging To The Ground... Passenger Side Front, It Is Hooked To What Apppears To Be Some Sort Of Electrical Solenoid Connected To The Brake Lines..... The Hose Terminates With A Little Plastic Cap That Is Loose And Seems To Be Leaking A Tiny Bit Of Fluid. The Hose Has A Metal Clip On It That Connects To The Metal Brake Lines.

HMMmmm - looks like ya got a MALE truck - now, to go along with that hose, ya need those doo-hickeys some guys hang from the rear of their trucks... :-laf

Welcome to TDR!

Double check what the end is hooked to. Sounds more like the breather tube to the axle which is normally attached so it goes UP, has disconnected from its hanger(s) and is dangling down. They have a little plastic cap that allows air in and out, and if dangling DOWN, would likely have a bit of fluid...

I think that Gerry, not Gary, answered you question. Welcome to TDR. It's a good site full of great information and a lot of BS.

Are you looking at the breather tube? It is a 1/2 or 3/4 tube that is open on the bottom and it vents the crankcase vapors. It is a good indicator of the condition of a diesel. Cleaner is better. Usually a clear plastic.

( my truck is a girl. that tube is a fallaponia tube. Things fall apona my driveway from it. )

Thanks!

Im sure its the breather tube, just re clipped it and tucked the end back up where it belongs. Alot to learn on these rigs as a newbie, the TDR is invaluable.

Always gives ya 10 cents change.

Welcome to another properly valved truck equipped with the famous P-Pump and reliable old mechanical lift pump for which most all 24 valvers would give their left eyeball. :-laf
