System Restore doesn't work

Can some of you guys give me your opinion on which program is most effective? I tried to install Norton Internet Security yesterday and it caused nothing but problems, so the search goes on. Thanks

PCCillin is very good as is Bit Defender. I would pick from those two. Norton/MacAfee that people normally use are junk. There is a reason why I have no spyware, spam, or virus's of any type. I have been using Bit Defender for the last three years. Since that time I have not had to do any spyware sweeping/killing or anything else, will intercept any virus I have encountered so far and doesn't cost that much either. Oh, use Firefox if you aren't already.

best one I've used with out alot of junk running in that back ground is Zone Alarm. I like how easy it is to down load its updates(automatic)and you have a whole lot of control over the firewall and anit-virus panel. Just my 2 cents worth.

Avast here. .

It flat out works and does not use up the resources like Snorton and Macfee do. The AVG deal is also a very good one and can be considered. I went to Avast in all mine and my sons lapptop for college. As much as he satys online he has never gotten anything using it.

I seen someone up above uses both MacFee and Snorton at the same time... eeekkkk. . Talk about screwing up a system, one should never use two antivirus programs at one time, bad idea... ..... Andy

I have switched to Trend Micro Internet security 2007. It downloads a database of known sites that give spyware and other bad things. If you should go to one of these sites, it warns you.

Followed a link in an e-Mail the other day and got warned. I thought that it was a good catch. You can ge it on a 30 day trial.

I use Avast on both of my machines and so far have not had any problems. I used to use Norton but no longer, it takes up too much system resources and has other problems. I also use Firefox, which really cut down on the spyware.
