I have a 2004. 5 q-cab 4x4 diesel,auto, swb,what is the best electric brake control for the truck?.

Brakesmart

Prodigy

Jordan Ultima 2020

Since the BrakeSmart was introduced a year or two ago there is only one brake controller. The competition fell behind by a generation of product development.

I got a BrakeSmart, loved it, it developed a problem, company replaced it within less than a week. They explained that some (a very few) early logic board might have a problem (sensed pressure even when there was none).

Replacement works fine. Excellent customer support!

They even called me when the tracking indicated it would arrive, and it did.

Would do it again, the best way to go IMHO.

If you don't want to spend the extra $250. 00 for the Brakesmart, go with the Jordan Ultima. I got one, installed it, set it and it's handsfree for there on out. In fact, I need to look in the mirror to see if the 5er's still there. Very smooth, dependable and economical.

I currently use the Jordan and love it... . but have purchased a brakesmart for the new truck because of the rave reviews here and on other boards. We'll see

You made the correct decision. I promise you won't regret it. In a few weeks you'll be another of the owners/users posting your praise for the BrakeSmart controller influencing the next guy who asks the question you asked.

Not too many people can call the 350 bones for the Brakesmart "mild" To be honest, I too ordered the Brakesmart, but it was going to take waaay too long before I got it, so I cancelled and went with the Jordan Ultima :) . Glad I did too, it's a terrific controller and I've got "mild" $250. 00 still in my pocket :D .

Prodigy was pretty good, but when you do it all day everyday. . . I popped for the BrakeSmart. Carry my Prodigy for a spare now. Jordan looked very interesting also. I think any of the three would do, but I tow too much not to have BrakeSmart.

Cheers,

How long does it take to get it?

When I ordered, I was told it was going to be a couple weeks at best before they received their shipment from the manufacturer. Add to that repacking and shipping over to me, and that would've taken about 3 weeks optimum. I had to pick up my 5er within 2-weeks or I would have had to wait close to two months as the sellers were going out of town and were reluctant to make other arrangements.

Wow, you would think they would be a little faster in getting them out! Thanks

Think it's a component issue, slow san pan from Indonesia. When it gets here they'll throw a zillion of them together. Prolly have to trade off lost sales against making the most profit getting the parts as economical as possible. It's a great controller, but they need to get the components by the boatload and run the line round the clock.

Cheers,
