What is the best, mid-priced, camcorder?

Matt, The camcorder we bouhgt takes a picture on a memory stick. Do you think that the quality will be better than taken on the tape? Chris

Nope. Same quality - but the ease of dealing with the pictures and the convenience of the memory stick is very cool.



The problem lies in the optics and video processing of the camera. When you spend more on a camera - you get better quality optics and video processing... . usually.



The 3-chip cameras with big fat lens' take pretty decent digital pictures - but most of the consumer grade cameras have a hard time holding a candle to even a $200-$300 digital camera.



You may be perfectly happy with the pics - experiment with it - heck, it's free!
