Finally got my new turbo in this weekend. I went with the HTB2 sled puller 66. So far so good. It doesn't spool up like the stock turbo but the top end is awesome!!! Now I need to upgrade the transmission. I can't turn the TST past 3/4 with the Torque Dog on 90 without the transmission slipping.

Give Kyle a call at Extreme Diesel & Offroad Performance. (253-376-8002) I ordered a set of BD twins on 12/31 and they arrived at my door less than a week later, great to work with and very responsive. I haven't had time for the install, maybe this w/e.

Let us all know how you like the set. The super B single is not compatible with exhaust brakes although it is a bolt on turbo it has an adapter to mount up to stock downpipe you need to use remote mount brake. I asked bd if they would make a special brake for super b via turbo mount they said no. The single is a great turbo spools just as fast as a stock turbo but moves high volume of air like a larger turbo just without the irritating lag. This is achieved with bd's own designed impeller wheel. I sold one to a member here by the name of lilredcummins look for his post he was very pleased with turbo as well. Good luck in your shopping around

Sorry to hear the Suber B is not will not take a turbo mounted brake. That puts a point in favor of the B1-04. This will end up being a tough decision. I'll try calling Kyle today if work permits!

The 4" inline brakes are also available for about the same money as a direct mount. It does take a little more doing to install one but if you do it the same time as the turbo it's not a big deal.

SChang,

I cannot honestly say if it improved fuel mileage. The truck gets a steady 16mpg on the winter blend. I would expect to gain roughly 1-1. 5 mpg when the weather warms up.

Is it quieter then stock? No, you could hear it in the cab. It was by no means annoying, at least not to me. It sounded really nice, a faint whistle at cruise, and a nice steady scream at wot (wide open throtle).

Mike,

That sounds great! Is that a waste-gated turbo? I'd rather keep the boost around 40-ish in hopes of saving the head gasket!!

So how much psi is too much?

I see

posted on their site this:

Tests show that at 450 rear wheel horsepower, pre-turbo exhaust temperatures of 1175 F were experienced and 51 pounds of turbo boost was developed on a 2002 ISB Cummins with the exhaust smoke level of only 3 out of 10. O-ringing of the head is not a requirement at this pressure.
