What is the capacity of a stock first gen winch?

I've been trying to figure out what the capacity is of the winches that came equipped from the factory on the 89-93's. Can anyone help me out here? I've seen lots of them around, but I can't find any specs on them

Yeah, at least I think it was a factory option, maybe a Canada dealer option? It is that black winch with the ratchet type looking wheel on one side and all of the trucks with this same winch seem to have type of steel bumper. So, I assummed it was an option, but I could definitely be wrong.

Then it pulls 8000 LBS with 150ft of cable.

Great winch, on a heavy truck I would have some extra cable, strap, or chains and a snatch black to double the pulllin power.

It is similar, but on the left there is a large wheel with what looks like omni-directional teeth cut into it, maybe some sort of brake assembly? I wonder if it was some sort of Canadian offroad package?

About 10 years ago I friend of mine bought a used one from a government auction. It came with one but he never knew if it came stock with it or if the government agency using it put it on. I believe his was a forest service or blm vehicle. It is quite possible that if it was a government vehicle they spec'd a winch for it from the manufacturer and it came that way but it was not an option for the general public.

Maybe it was some sort of government deal then? My uncle is coming out from the BC interior today so I'll ask him when I see him later. Maybe he could at least tell me how it got on the truck?

Apparently I remembered it somewhat wrong, because once I saw it I realized it is a 8274 with one of those common steel platform type of bumpers that lots of people make themselves. Thanks for the help guys.
