What is the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) rating of the OEM batteries on the Cummins powered trucks for 1998. 5 - 2002?

TIA. ;)

My stock ones, as well as my friend's '97 stockers are 750 CCA's.

He recently replaced his with Optima red-tops at 720 or 730 CCA's and INSTANTLY his pickup started better. Mine are getting close to needing it too (94k on the clock, and one shows no color in the hole anymore) and I'll too replace w/ red-tops.

Thanks Guys!

I don't need them yet, but my time is coming. The truck will be 5 years old in May (AND PAID FOR!!!Oo. ) with over 163,000 miles and the OEMs are still doing very well to date. I just wanted to know what to look for when the time comes.

Josh. . buy them at Costco and save a few $$

I thoroughly agree. When I replaced the two in my prior truck, I did a LOT of shopping and comparisons, including some consumer reports articles. What it came down to was that the Kirkland brand, at Costco, for then $48 was rated on a par to the 'gold' level Die Hard, which was occasionally on sale for $75, but normally $80. The other major brands ranged from somewhere around $120 down to about $60, but none were better rated than the Kirkland ones. I bought 4 at the time, and have the other 2 in my toolbox of my CTD, set up for RV, jump starts, anything... constantly charged, but NOT tied to the CTD's electrical system... .
