I have been contacted by 5 different people in the last three weeks with bad VP's. Three with dead pedal and some codes and one that won't start at all and one that is hard to start. Three calls in one day! All are trying to get a new Vp and are planning to replace themselves what thread is the best instructions on which to replace it, they all apreciate it...

I've noticed the rash of failure too.

Didn't the fuel lubricity change the first of the year???

Hope I don't have to go buy a wheel barrow to haul the VP's in.

I've got a new Blue chip VP ordered.

Mine is a circuit board/computer issue.

Jeeze - an outright epidemic! :(

Maybe the switch to summer fuel, combined with the new low sulphur fuel reportedly already being on the market in some locations, as well as owners hitting the road on some longer RVing road trips?

Sure glad I use a decent fuel additive, and carry a full set of spare pumps in case of emergency!

#9 anyone?

Mine started with the dead pedal thing a couple weeks ago. Also takes a little longer to start than normal at times. Am not getting the fuel mileage I think I should. Bought blacksheepdiesel June 2004 with 239,000 miles, now has 399,260. Do not know if the VP44 has ever been changed out yet. New one going in next week.

I've done 10 of them myself. The place I get them from has gone through at least two dozen (actually more) so far this year. That's why I went to a P-pump. I've had it with this contemptuous horse thit design that Cummins / DC gave us. I recommend that all VP owners should consider this change. But that's just my opinion.
