What is the drop in EGT by removing the stock muffler?

I was wondering how much the drop in EGT was by removing the stock muffler. I am using the Genos Garage MEK and I love the turbo spool up with it, i just wanted to know what the drop was by doing this mod?

I wouldn't think it would be very much... maybe 25 to 50 degrees. Not sure though.

I dropped 125 - 150 when I removed the muffler and resonator :{

If you are heavily fueled it can drop some, if stock or close there will be little to no drop.

When running a Van Aaken I replaced the stock muffler and resonator with a walker flow through 3" muffler. It was alot louder, not that it would be a bad thing, I had a drop in EGT's of 100 to 180 degrees. I would recommend replacing the whole exhaust with a quality made 4". I think any of them would be fine. With the 4" I saw 200* drops across the board. I used to be able to peg 1300* on the EGT guage. With the four inch I could only hit 1050* WOT hauling 12,000 lbs. I think eliminating the muffler reduced my EGT more than removing the stock air filter. On a long grade at WOT I could get the EGT to 1350. Without the muffler I can not get it above 1050.



On a long road trip at speeds of 75-80 the extra noise can get old fast. Around town is sounds great.
