what is the heaviest load you have pulled with a G56?

Just curious here. I pull 6-7K about 1x month for 1K miles or so. I have hooked up 10K 5-6 times but only pulled about 50 miles each trip. Wonder what others are pulling with their G56, how many miles and any problems.

I pull a 12,000+# 5th wheel. Pulled it about 1000 miles so far with no problems. Truck has a lot of power. Sure pulls the camper much better than my 03 with 48re and 3. 73. Only complaint is the drone that you get at speeds above 65mph.



Truck has 6000 miles total so far. I am getting around 10. 5 MPG towing this trailer. I expect that to get a little better as I get more miles on the truck.

Towing

I tow an 18' flat bed with a large skid steer... total weight 11. 4K. No problems at all!!

I tow a 10k lb enclosed trailer everyday. I bought the truck just for this purpose. It has just under 7k mi on it and 6k mi were hauling the trailer. I tow everyday in city traffic and the engine and trans keep getting smoother. It makes a little ticking noise in 5th and 6th but keeps on pullin.

I also use 1st (low) on every start with full throttle launches after clutch engagement.

I know one of these days I will rip the hitch off the back of the truck :-laf

So much for the plastic gear and dual-mass flywheel problems

I've towed about 24,000lbs. (SkyTrac 6042 forklift and 200 gallon fuel tank) on short trips(60 miles or less) with the stock G56 on a 05 dually six-speed. Usually make these trips once or twice a month.

Like the above poster, I always use 1st when towing, except if I'm already rolling and on the highway I always use 6th.

The plastic gear thing is a joke. Some doubters claim the G56 has plastic gears and will not hold up.
