What is the largest size tire you can put on a stock 96 2500 4X4?

I've got 305/70's (basically a 33X12. 50) on mine right now - they fit fine. I had 285/75's on it before. I would recommend the 285/75's if you're going to stay with the stock wheel. If you want a more narrow tire, look at the 255/85's.

I have 35x12. 5x16. 5 BFG A-T on rims w/5" backspacing & they

really helped my top speed as I have the 4. 10 gear

I have 35 inch on mine with stock suspension. They rub a little in a tight turn and in a mild turn if it's bumpy. If I was to do it over again, I'd get 33 inch. Don't like the rubbing.

Another thing to consider is your gear ratio - if you have 3. 54's, don't go past the 285's or 305's. You won't like the 35's w/ the high gears. Now if you have 4. 10's, the 35's are OK. JMO.



Anyone running 35's with the 3. 54 gears?

I've got 35" BFG with 3. 54 gears. I'm happy with the performance but dont tow much. I did notice a drop in power. With 245's I coud go up Floyd hill (I70 Denver West) @ 80 in OD, with 35's I strugle to keep it at 65 in OD. In drive its no problem.

I havn't tried the hill with the new injectors, but performance seems a lot better. Milage has been a steady 16 - 18 around town



I did cut a little plastic on the inside of the front fenderwell to keep from rubbing(3 min. w/razor).

I would do it again. I'm on my 3rd year running 35's with no problems. Looks good and I like the view you get.

could I put 33's on a stock rim

Will 33 inch tires work on the stock rim.

I just put 305/70R16 on my American Racing Atlas 8" wheels. The rub a little when making a tight turn. I had 285/75R16 on before with no rubbing at all.

Another vote here for 285/75s. Fit fine on the stock rim and don't rub anywhere.
