Model year 2001. My former '01, build date July 2000, had one.

Thanks for the replies that was a very good link . Thankfully none of my trucks have had a 53 block

So they guy lied and told me the truck had a 2002 engine no its not a 53 block well you just can't believe anybody and I'm as much at fault for not looking why cant people tell the damn truth absolutely sick to my stomach

Even if it is I wouldn't sweat it there was a relatively small number of them that failed compared to how many are out there. If it hasn't given you problems yet it probably won't. There is a guy that delivers boats all over the country that has 1.2 million miles on a 53 block. the TV show "Truck U" did a segment on him. It sucks you got lied to but I wouldnt lose any sleep over it.
