Talked with my salesmen today to see what they were doing on 03's and the 02's they have left. He gave me a couple of examples. Now bear in mind another member bought one from them based on my referal last week (over the phone) and got over $7K off list.

03 W3500QC list - $38440 over $4K discount

02 W3500QC 4x4 SLT+ everything including leather- automatic list - $41,545 asking $34,863

If your interested call him direct they have others - Cary Atkins 417-581-2776

I paid $32,444 for a loaded 01 that was on the dealers lot for a while, it listed for 38,209. It took 2 months of haggling to get this deal, I think the reason I was able to get this deal is another dealer had a customer that was interested, he wanted the sale. I think I did OK -- anyone else??

I want to buy an 03 and get a educated deal.

I paid $37K for a loaded '03 1-ton that listed for more than $44K. Gimme a shout at -- email address removed -- and I'll tell you how it's done.

that is all that really matters when you are setting a price for your new truck. congrats! did you get one off the lot or did you have to order? i ordered mine... the wait is killing me!

how does farm bureau discount work?

Question: I've applied for Farm Bureau membership, but probably won't take effect until 1/2/03

Can I order the truck now (12/15/02), and assuming it takes 8 weeks delivery, still get the discount?

Does the discount come through the dealer, or directly from Chrysler?

thx.

1) yes, you will get it

2) given from dealer, then dealer is repaid from chrysler

What in the world is Ziebart Rust Protection - undercoating? I never heard of it!

Ziebart (I think that is the name, I will have to check the materials I have at the house) is a rust/corrosion protection/coating that they apply to the truck as it is being built. It supposedly coats everything and fills all the nooks and crannies were it is possible regular undercoatings and stuff don't get. It is provided by an aftermarket company "Ziebart", and they provide you with a limited lifetime warranty which goes beyond Dodges' rust/corrosion coverage. It is my understanding that for Dodge vehicles' the Ziebart corrosion treatment is applied at the factory during the manufacturing process (some other makes have the treatment applied after the vehicle leaves the factory. )

Does this stuff work?? Ask me in twenty years. I bought the truck to keep it long term (It is not a work truck per se, it is a truck to pull various toys, tractors, etc. ) so I figured might as well buy some extra rust protection for the long haul. I own a 1986 CJ 7 and have fought the rust cancer in various places previously and I just hate rust. Hopefully I won't have to use the warranty, but it is there if I need it.

FYI, I am in the military and ordered my truck while overseas through the base exchange and they offered the protection as an add on. (I don't know if dealers stateside sell Zeibart as an option. )

Ziebart around here is a dealer or body shop install. Fancy name for sprayed on undercoating. It was a more popular option a few years ago. the rust problem on new vehicles isn't nearly as bad a it used to be around here where salt is used straight on the roads sometimes. I does do a heck of a job cutting down the road noise. Another company was Rusty Jones, I think they went under.

Interesting... I guess I'd have bought it too because I intend to be buried in my truck ... no need to have it rusting too soon. Yeh, I noticed where you were in Hawaii ... where it never snows and 4WD is never needed except maybe to haul a Ford or Chevy out of a ditch. I'm not sure the option is offered across the board.
