I have heard of several different methods to lifting the frontend 2" and know about a couple of different kits available (from spacers to lifts).

I need to know the best way to tackle this so it addresses the steering box (pitman arm) and other front end components. Any suggestions? (Please list any problems with them)

Thanks,

mike

I don't know if it's the "right" way or not but I'm happy with my Skyjacker levelling kit. Taller springs and lower control arms. It's been on about 75k now with no problems. I didn't do anything to the track bar length or pitman arm. I don't think much of the spring spacers for lifting the front but many appear to be satisfied with them. The taller springs stiffened the front end up a bit which I like. I've heard the 1 ton springs might do the trick also.

springs

We have 2 CTD's here at work and on one of them we replaced the front springs with 1 ton springs and it ended up leveling out the truck just right (stiffer spring, less compression). And, it seems to help support the weight of the Cummins a little better. Total cost installed at a shop was around $250-300. HTH

SKYJACKER!

I have leveled two different trucks, one with Daystar spacers and the other with Skyjacker 2. 5" coils and I HIGHLY recommend the SJ coils. Both methods will give you the desired look but if you want an improved ride along with that look Skyjacker is your answer. While you're at it I recommend longer shocks, they are not necessary but while you're there you might as well do it. If you take the truck offroad at all you will most likely end up doing it anyway. I see that you already have the DT track bar so you will be able to re-center your differential with no problems.
