Archived What is the size of the nut that holds the yoke on the Dana 80?

Ok, yesterday I tore the yoke all to shreds, and I have a new one ordered from the parts house. . What size is the nut that holds the yoke on, as I need to go get one... please chime in, as I need to get Black Betty on the road today!

If I remember correctly it is 1 5/16 and must be thin wall

I just did mine last weekend and used an 1 7/8" 12 point thinwall Snap-On. An impact socket will not work. I had to use a 3/4" drive impact on mine. 1/2" IR 2131 would not do it.

Also the nut is torqued to 440 - 500 ftlbs. Very tight.

thanks guys. . I am going to see about borrowing the socket from work, doing this overnight, and returning it in the morning to save some $$$... ... I am also waiting on all the parts to get here. I got the yoke, but I need the horseshoe clips that hold the U-joints in place. Once again, thanks for all the help, and I will keep y'all updated!
