What is the virus doing in your area-try not to get political

Our kids have a circulation of washable masks for school. I carry a few in my truck but I don’t get too many places that I need one. When this first hit a lot of parts dealers either locked their doors and you had to call and get parts brought outside or you could only step inside the door and not get close to the parts counter. They all have pretty well got back to normal procedures. Is that similar for everyone else? A lot of people complained about not being able to go inside, it didn’t bother me.

We opened the entrances with a few restrictions in June, it was just too hard for over the counter customers and my guys. Previously had been funneling all business through one window in the Service Dept...never fails after you close an invoice and walk all the way to the Service Window....the customer wants to add something on....

We've done absolutely nothing here at my work (other than get sick early on and get it over with!). I occasionally have customers come in and demand we wear masks, etc. Alaska has really shrugged it off.

Over 12,000 new cases reported in Illinois this morning. Averaging around 100-125 new cases in our county each day. Kids are still in school here, several nearby are going remote for a few weeks. The main issue seems to be the ability to keep enough staff healthy or out of quarantine.

Yes; it is high but I believe it is another matrix that is driving the increase other than the restaurant and bar business, such as public gathering in large metropolitan areas. The Mayor in Naperville, has publicly stated that their contract tracing in Naperville is not showing that it is the restaurant and bar business that the governor has sited.

I was talking to someone the other day about that. For all the tracing that is being done we are not given any advice or information about where it is spreading. We have 4 teachers at school out all in the same area of the building and the health department said they all probably got it somewhere else.

He also said the concern is indoor private gatherings in homes, not public gatherings in large metropolitan areas. Since he said the part about restaurants and bars at a liquor commission meeting it sounds like he's serving the interests of the liquor commission and not the public health.

Will my daughter just informed us see has contacted COVID-19. She is a teacher and her school district in Aurora just started class room learning again for 6th grade students first. They returned to school on the first Monday in November the 2. She was tested today, Saturday (14) with the rapid test at the doctor’s office. Everyone in her immediate family is now in quarantine for 10 to 14 days per her doctor. We did have her two children on different days last week on different days. So, we may or may not have been exposed to the virus since we did not interreact directly with her. But we are going to quarantine also for the next 14 days.

Per my daughter who I just mention in the above post. Has stated to my wife and I that the third largest gatherings and COVID19 spreading issue is schools. She has been an advocate for remote learning since schools have started back-up in September. But parents and the local school administers are pushing for in school learning. Will all four of the grandkids that go to school have had in-person learning suspended in the last week or so, because of students and or teachers becoming sick due to Covid19. Her school has at least four teachers out do to COVID19 and now her! They have never been to any large family or restaurants gatherings since school resumed in Sept, per her. I asked my daughter how they contacted COVID19 and she stated school!

My youngest son tested positive on Tuesday, so the rest us got tested, I am positive but my wife and other son are not. I was home all of last week and will be all of this week. Luckily, I am able to use a mix of PTO and working from home.

We had a record day positive count of 4080 a couple days ago. Our hospitals are "officially" over capacity.

I've got one in high school full time since early August and one taking college classes at a local campus but technically still in high school (a senior) and learning remotely.
Without getting into the weeds I'm very confident in person education is the way to go. At least for my family in my community.

I agree with you 100%. The achievement gap between the in person students and those online is quite evident by this time of the school year. There are of course many kids online that are doing well. But, being in school is definitely the best placement for learning for the vast majority of the kids.

I just hope that they can continue going to school as much as possible.

Our kids(grade school) just got sent home until dec 7th. We had a few cases and stayed steady last week but have had a few new cases each day this week. I agree it’s just not the same over a computer.
