Christmas Lights 2020

Well fest3er,

You know when its time to quit, retire whatever when it's not fun, you find you're angry and frustrated. I retired/quit early too, back in 2017. You'll find you're doing yourself s big favor and life will be good again.

As soon as I read the caveat on the thread title, I said to myself "YEAH RIGHT." And its everywhere and both sides of the fence... folks just have to go political, nothing and nowhere spared. Even in the sermon at church. I guess it's even political to complain about folks who can't keep from getting political.

I guess this is where I'll stop, wouldn't want to get political after OP asked us to TRY not to.

Cheers, Ron

Will accordingly per our state governor, starting Friday IL is going back to a modified Tier three mitigation plan. People should state at home and work from home. For the most part bars and restaurants are closed unless you can do out door seating or takeout. Retail stores should operate at 25% capacity including stores with grocery stores inside such as Target, Walmart and others like them. Stand alone grocery and pharmacy stores should operate at 50% capacity. The list is very long and comprehensive which covers just about everything.
The state keeps mentioning the Covid19 numbers and the positive rate which is stated each day at the governors press conference. We have been averaging 14.6 positive rate over the last 5 days, with hospitals admission over the spring admission numbers. The ICU beds have almost reach maximum capacity.

Oh well we will get through this!

Do you or your son have any symptoms?

My son just felt overall slightly sick. He had a fever only for one evening, and has had a cough and sore throat most of the week.

I've felt anywhere from almost normal, to just slightly blah.....like I'm 85% of normal. Nothing too serious.

If I haven't said it before, I'll say it now. In my opinion, based on available evidence provided by various governments, this corona virus is not anywhere near as dangerous or even as deadly as our governments and the media are terrorizing us to believe.

It has killed a quarter million Americans so far, many more to come. So, it's kind of a concern. It will also have long term affects on many survivors. There is also the issue of overwhelmed hospitals, which is a problem right now.

I had it for a month last November and probably have had it several times since.

How do you know you had it in November when they weren't testing for it then? Did you actually get tested all of those other times?
While further review and research is needed, a study release today shows immunity could last years or decades for some people.

Eastern Washington had a indoor wedding in a farm building with 300 guest, and the last I heard the covid count after the wedding was at 40 and growing. Another indoor wedding back East had similar case percentages. This virus is not going down easily, it is going up right along with the death rate. Nursing homes in Washington are see higher numbers of cases and deaths again.

Just spoke with our Dr last night. He said they have 100 positive cases at Josephine Nursing home in Stanwood, WA. 40 are staff with the rest residents. 5 dead with more expected.

IL positivity rate has drop to 13.4% on Friday the 20, which is down from 14.7% rate on Monday the 16 of 2020. But the death rate and hospital rates are still up from March of this year! Elective surgeries are being canceled at some hospitals to make room for all of the influx of Covid19 patients there.

Our county ended up involved with some type of "free" mass rapid testing program. Has been going on since last Saturday I think, they declared a state of emergency so they could pay out overtime to staff it. They were stating the goal was to test 20-30,000 people which is half of the population. Funny thing is as soon as this started we dropped from a steady rate of 100 plus new cases everyday to more like 50 cases per day. Makes me wonder if the cases from the rapid test site are not reported with the county total. I think there are 80 reported in our hospital so I would think they are pretty full. I did hear that our vacated Sears automotive building is going to be used by the hospital as a drive in test site also. The mass test site is across the street in the parking of a vacated big box store.

It was reported on our local news that we will open another rapid test site and that they will also be giving out free groceries if you get tested.

I think this thread should have an extension down in the bottom most forum topic here on the TDR. How COVID travels is pretty much undeniable. I feel it’s controlled very well, especially watching it after 11/3/2020.

As far as Covid19 being spread among the masses today, in the fall and late fall of 2020, the CDC has put forth a theory. From Contract tracing it seems to be supper spreaders who are passing this virus around. They could be in bars, restaurants, schools and elsewhere. These spreaders for the most part do not exhibit any signs of the virus such as fever, sneezing, sore throat and so for. The supper spreaders have not been tested since they think they are not ill. But they are asymptomatic and walking around with the Covid19 virus affecting others. This is how my daughter thinks she contact the virus at school from someone there.

Typhoid Mary syndrome. It begs the question: how long does the asymptomatic person remain infectious an able to spread the virus?

Until more and better contact tracing is in place and more testing is done, there is no way to know! Americans and their belief in personal freedoms only makes it harder to bring this under control.
