Blue Collar Comedy Tour...

Merry Christmas!

handicaped zones !

unfortunatley, way too many people who appear totally healthy and mobile are using these spaces legally, having "qualified" for a permit issued by the local law folks. how 'cum? just becuase someone is overwieght, smokes like a fiend and can't walk very far should qualify them as ignorant not handicapped ('cept mentally). I just do what I can to help those that need it, and realize we'll never fix stupid.

second whine. hot rodding the neighborhood streets. having raised 3 young uns in the same house we've seen it all. a stratigically launched basketball, baseball or softball in the path of the vehicle rarely does any damage but brings unacceptable behavior to the drivers notice. and if it is a local kid, go find him (her) and let the family know you will be calling the police if it continues.

Old time cure for neighborhood speeders that was passed along to me by a guy who grew up in the city - put a sheet on the end of a long cord and lay it in front of a car parked on the side of the street, so the speeder coming up can't see it. When he gets within a couple car lengths or so, yank the cord and whip the sheet out across the street in front of him.

My bud said people will lock 'em up and screech to a halt, soiling the seats all the way. Then when they boil out of the car fighting mad, tell 'em "Slow down you worthless POS, that could have been a kid, and if it was you could have killed him. " Said it worked EVERY time.

On the note of miserable human POS's, I had to endure a bunch of shopping in Ft. Worth yesterday and I was appalled at the mess that people had created in the stores. Stuff thrown everywhere, boxes open and thrown in the floor, looked like the LA riots. I have lived in this area for more than 30 years, and this level of crap is a recent development. Like a war zone in some of the stores. Maybe it is from the huge number of illegal aliens that we seem to have in the DFW area, I don't know. All I know is that it just makes me    that people have no dadgum consideration for others.

When I was a youngster we'd tie stuffed animals to our fishing rods and cast them across the street. Then go hide in the bushes and railroad that reel when a speeding car would come. It worked nicely until one day it caused a little accident. The guy driving freaked and lost control and rammed a parked car. Needles to say I didn't do that anymore after getting my butt kicked by my parents.

I'm thankful the Good Lord gave me the strength to kick their ass and the wisdom to not get caught LOL

many times i have wanted to do that, but i am too nice of a person hit someone [family history of mental illness will click in and i will have very little self control]

the crux of the problem !

not enough whippin' going on in the upbringing department these days. if humans aren't accountable for their actions why should they give a care?

I certainly do NOT advocate child abuse, but a good whippin' never hurt my three childs, nor me as a kid, nor anyone else in my generation.

our permissive, tolerable society has created this situation and does not possess the means to correct the matter. hopefully the pendulum will swing back 'tuther way and a future generation can get back to the value of repsect for others !

Another parking spot comment

Most of the people i see in those spots shouldnt have that spot. Half the time they are just fat and smoke and have high blood pressure and go to the doctor... . Lately i have also seem more people with alot of money "buying" these spots

I used to think just like some folks here. A person parks in a handicapped spot with the proper tags, gets out and walks in the store looking as healthy as me.

That was until my Dad started getting his chemo and radiation treatments. Somedays, walking across the monster parking lots these stores have nowadays is completely out of the question. When he gets out of his truck, he looks as healthy as you or I, but because of the cancer treatments, he just doesn't have the energy it takes to walk long distances.

Just keep that in mind when you see someone who looks like they don't need handicapped parking. Unless you know someone personally, you never know.

Since I live on the corner of a pretty busy road, I can sympathize with the speeders. Unfortunatly, there isn't a whole lot I can do about it. But, come the 1st of the year, I get a nice new 8ft tall brick csound wall installed free of charge. Since I don't have kids or pets that aren't fenced in, it really doesn't pose a big problem for me.

After suffering through some miserable surgery a couple of years ago, I had to use a walker for a while until I had retrained myself to walk correctly while compensating for the changes in my leg. After I got back to work, I was still limping pretty bad and was asked by several people "why do you park so far out, why don't you just get a handicapped space?". My answer:

1) Forces me to walk and it's good for me

2) Handicapped spaces ought to be reserved for people that NEED them, if I can limp along good enough to walk without a cane I don't need one.

Result: Had a few laugh at me for being stupid and not taking advantage of the system, the others just shake their heads.

Suits me just fine, I don't want a darned thing unless I earned it or need it. I still park as far away as I can, rain or shine, and force myself to get that extra walking in on the bum leg. All the folks that abuse the system can line up and kiss my tender pink behind.

Tim1 - handicapped zones

What ****es me off about handicapped parking spots is that because of The Federal Disability Act, there are way too many of them in front of a lot of buildings. Parking spots where I work are never used! Parking spots at Wal-Mart on a cold, dark, wet night are never used.

Got to be a more rational, logical answer IMO.

They now have special parking spots here for pregnant mothers.

How about a "poor working slob" parking spot?

I have family members (in laws)that have the handy cap tag. It's very easy to get. Just have to get the doctor to write a letter.

The aggrivating part is, she can stand at a slot machine in atlantic city for 14 hours straight, but she supposidly cant walk to the store from a normal parking spot.

She's no more disabled than I am... ... . I'm probably more qualified for the tag than she is actually. (very messed up back)

You definitely have to watch with the handicapped permit thing...

My dad has one (that I've seen used only once in 3 years) and if you didn't know him you'd think "dumb prick, nothing wrong, just parked in a handicapped spot"

Well, he's got multiple sclerosis and there are lots of times where by the time we finally get to a store from the back of the parking lot, he's got to stop and sit down for a few minutes. It's actually quite disheartening... he was 100% self-sufficient 4 years ago, now can barely carry the trash cans down our driveway...

Sounds like they have the same problems with 18 year olds in Illinois as I have in my neighborhood . I got a teenage girl that lives across the street that has about three boys chasing her and they all seem to think the speed limit is wide open in the neighbor hood and they don't have to stop for the two stop signs on the street either . One of them has a straight pipe gasser junkie Ford 4x4 that has a lift kit on it and he runs wide open all the time . He tore out of her drive the other night at about 11o'clock and woke up the whole neighborhood . He comes through the neighborhood some mornings around 6 o'clock wide open and bust both stop sings AND I am proud to say I am the A-HOLE that has been calling the Police on them and I am just waiting for the right time to get behind them to get a LP number so I can go down to the PD and give it to the Chief and I dare one of the little inconsiderate teenage boys Daddy to come to my house!!!!!!! Oh and just for the record I am not retired and I am not that old either.

Oh my God , look at the left of the screen on my post . It has printed there Gulf Coast Of Texas . You know in the location spot .

well i wasnt that bad... in the morning when i had to go to work id idle down my street just to be as quite as possible... never got any complaints. . And im not dumb enough to chase a girl when 2 others are chasing her... . im not dumb like that. That never happens anyway. . I guess im just a pimp  :D . My truck was way too loud and i got many tickets for it. My truck wasnt fast tho so i never sped just because i couldnt. And if your where comparing me to a A-HOLE, i wouldnt go there...

No you need to re-read my post I said I was PROUD to say I am the A$- HOLE that is calling the POLICE . You said the OLD MAN that was calling the Police on you and your friends was a A-hole , remember .

yeah i understand... hell if someone was obnoxiously driving like a a-hole at late nights and early morning i would have called the cops to. Your not in anyway a example of the guy i used...
